2027 Georgia safety names Tennessee football in top six schools
Tennessee is recruiting toward its 2027 football signing class.
Four-star safety Ta'Shawn Poole named Tennessee in his top six schools, along Alabama, LSU, Clemson, Georgia and Florida State, according to Hayes Fawcett of On3.
The 6-foot-2, 185-pound prospect is from Howard High School in Macon, Georgia. 247Sports ranks him as the No. 4 safety in the class and No. 6 player in Georgia.
Tennessee offered Poole a scholarship on Feb. 21, 2025. He unofficially visited Tennessee for the Vols' game against Arkansas on Oct. 11, 2025 and for a spring practice on Thursday. He has an official visit to Tennessee scheduled for June 5.
UNLV was the first school to offer Poole a scholarship on Aug. 1, 2024. Other schools to offer him scholarships include Louisville, Georgia Tech, Iowa State, Auburn, Missouri, Delaware State, Miami, North Carolina State, Kentucky, Nebraska, Georgia State, Sacramento State, Florida, Howard, Michigan, Ohio State, Oklahoma State, Memphis, Connecticut, North Carolina, Penn State, Ole Miss, Indiana, Wake Forest, Mississippi State and Virginia Tech.
Tennessee has six commitments in its 2027 football recruiting class: linebacker JP Peace, offensive tackle Princeton Uwaifo, defensive lineman Kadin Fife, quarterback Derrick Baker, athlete Jaden Butler and wide receiver KeSean Bowman.

Doku has a shot at one end, while Wirtz has a shot blocked
Bright start to this game as Jeremy Doku is buzzing around. He has a shot which rolls wide. At the other end Liverpool knock the ball around nicely but Florian Wirtz sees his shot blocked and James Trafford picks it up.
Manchester City lineup
Trafford; Nunes, Khusanov, Guehi, O'Reilly; Rodri, Bernardo; Semenyo, Cherki, Doku; Haaland
Liverpool lineup
Marmadashvlii; Gomez, Konate, Van Dijk, Kerkez; Gravenberch, Jones; Salah, Szoboszlai, Wirtz; Ekitike
Manchester City team news, focus
Center backs Ruben Dias, John Stones and Josko Gvardiol have been out injured, with Stones withdrawing from England's squad over the international break. Guardiola has a pretty settled lineup in midfield and attack but we could see Rayan Ait-Nouri start at left back with Nico O'Reilly moving into a more attacking role.
Liverpool team news, focus
Mohamed Salah was out injured before the break, but the Egyptian could return against City as he and Federico Chiesa have made good progress in their return to fitness. Alexander Isak is back in training after his lengthy spell out, which is a big boost for Slot late in the season. Goalkeeper Alisson is still out, while Jeremie Frimpong is a doubt after picking up an injury during the international break. Wataru Endo, Giovanni Leoni and Conor Bradley remain out.
Manchester City vs Liverpool preview
Pep Guardiola masterminded City’s League Cup final win over Arsenal at Wembley before the international break and City will be full of confidence after winning the first piece of silverware on offer this season. City are out of Europe but are still in the title race and for this young, newly-assembled team winning another trophy in the FA Cup would represent a big deal.
Liverpool boss Arne Slot is under pressure after they lost at Brighton before the international break to cap a run of three league games without a win to lose ground in the race for Champions League qualification. Liverpool are still in the Champions League quarterfinals this season, as they head to PSG for the first leg next week. And with the news Mohamed Salah is leaving at the end of the season, it will be intriguing to see his role between now and May as Slot needs to finish strong to ease the pressure building on himself.
Manchester City vs Liverpool prediction
This feels like City are going to come up with some special plan to bamboozle Liverpool, especially in midfield. It will be tight but City will prevail. Manchester City 2-1 Liverpool.
‘It was everything I dreamed of,’ Pirates’ Konnor Griffin has debut to remember
This article originally appeared on PGHBaseballNOW.com.
As is usually the case for home openers, the buzz was palpable for the Pittsburgh Pirates first game at PNC Park this season against the Baltimore Orioles on Friday evening.
Part of the reason there was extra excitement at the ballpark was because the team is playing well to start the year and has the look of a team potentially poised to be contenders for the first time in a long time.
But perhaps an even bigger reason for all the enthusiasm was Friday marked the MLB debut of top prospect Konnor Griffin, who was called up from Triple-A Indianapolis on Thursday.
Griffin put his stamp on the game early and helped the Pirates earn a 5-4 win in front of a sellout crowd.
“It was awesome getting a win as well. Just the cherry on top,” Griffin said following his debut. “It was hands down one of the best days of my life.”

This would be the most unforgivable decision from Celtic Board
Win our next two fixtures, and we can believe heading into the split where the fixtures are going to favour Celtic but we need Paradise at its best…

I’ve been guilty of regularly writing off our title chances, but who can really blame me after having to sit through this troubling campaign?
For example I totally wrote off our chances after the lacklustre performance in the 2-0 defeat at Tannadice before the international break, and despite still feeling the same way, I’ve somehow managed to find a tiny glimmer of hope that this squad of players can still do the improbable and retain the title and in doing so achieve five titles in a row and 14 league triumphs in 15 seasons, the only exception being the covid behind closed doors nonsense which was football but not as we know it.

However, for 5IAR to become a reality we need to win our remaining seven fixtures, which can all be classed as the proverbial ‘cup finals’. Whilst that is NOT impossible or as far-fetched as I was thinking a fortnight ago, it’s still going to take a major reset and hopefully that’s happened over the past 13 days at Lennoxtown.
This current crop of players don’t exactly fill you with great confidence in the mental or ability stakes. The squad of winners has been reduced in status by the arrival of players not of the required standard and changing managers continually during the season has had an impact with everyone’s Christmas and New Year trashed by Michael Nicholson’s first choice candidate as our new manager practically burning the season down in a disastrous 33 day reign that cost us a dozen points and a cup final.
Nicholson didn’t even have the balls to sit alongside Wilfried Nancy as he was unveiled as Celtic manager, a sign of disrespect that should have set alarm bells ringing. The Celtic CEO really is the weakest leader our club has had. Say what you like about Peter Lawwell but he’d always stand his ground and fight his corner and he never sent a new manager in alone to meet the media.

Tomorrow’s trip to Dens park is the acid test for our current crop of players. It really is the last chance salon, and anything other than a victory will surely end our title hopes. Many know that they won’t be at the club next season. Those on loan who haven’t produced will see this as a short-term gig, others who have run their course at the club and want away will perhaps have one eye on what’s next. Ideally the teams that start going into these cup final league matches are filled with players who have the commitment and the desire to succeed.

Dens Park a venue that we’ve already tasted defeat this campaign, and we will most likely head into the game five points adrift of our city rivals, and eight points behind Hearts if they win at Livingston tomorrow ahead of our game kicking off. So earning all three points is of massive importance, nothing else will suffice if we want to successfully defend our title.
Win tomorrow, then follow that up with a home win next Saturday over St Mirren and we can head into the split with some much needed optimism where we will have three home games and two away with both title rivals having to come to Celtic Park and Hearts also hosting the Rangers at Tynecastle. We will also welcome back a couple of key players from injury, so we still have a decent shot at defending our title.
Impossible? No it’s not, but we need to show some great belief, and winning our next two fixtures will give us just that heading into the final run of games, where anything is possible.
The one thing that many of us can’t get our heads around is the ongoing and seemingly spiteful ban on the Green Brigade, who seem to be victims of the Board’s wrath due to the formation of the Celtic Fans Collective last September.
Despite what Brian Wilson, the interim Celtic Chairman told Gerry McCulloch on Celtic TV recently, the club does have the scope to lift this long running ban and bring Paradise back to its best for these crucial matches. Not to do so and thereafter for the title to be lost will be unforgivable.
Just an Ordinary Bhoy

NCAA gymnastics regionals 2026 bracket, schedule for women's college championships
NCAA gymnastics regionals 2026 bracket, schedule for women's college championships originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The women's college gymnastics postseason is here, and Oklahoma is the team to beat once again.
The Sooners have won three of the last four NCAA championships and sit atop the national rankings as the drive for the 2026 title begins.
The one hiccup in Oklahoma's recent run of dominance came in 2024, when LSU took the crown. The Tigers are the No. 2 seed this year, with another SEC team, Florida, sitting third. The Gators are on a hot streak, recording the highest meet score this year at 198.575 on March 13 against Kentucky, then topping Oklahoma, LSU and Alabama to take the SEC championship.
All of that would indicate the road to a national title goes through the SEC, but you never know what will happen in NCAAs. The first step for any contender is making it through regionals, and that path is set for each team.
Here's everything you need to know to watch it all.
NCAA gymnastics regionals 2026 bracket
The NCAA has announced the 36 teams headed to the gymnastics regionals, with 16 schools earning national seeds. Each regional will feature a first-round play-in dual meet, then two quad meets. The top two teams from each quad will compete in the four-team regional final. The top two teams from each regional final move on to the national championships.
