Wales welcome back stars for Bok Test

Jac Morgan has been named in an extended 48-man squad for Wales’ Nations Championship matches in July.

The British & Irish Lions flanker missed the entire Six Nations after dislocating his shoulder against Argentina last November, but returned for the Ospreys in March.

Gloucester centre Max Llewellyn and Cardiff lock Teddy Williams also feature in the group selected by Wales coach Steve Tandy after they too were ruled out of the Six Nations because of injury. livefromquarantine.club

Wales play the world champion Springboks in the third round of the Nations Championship at Kings Park on 18 July.

The 34-year-old front-rower Tomas Francis, who plays for French second division side Provence, has, however, been rested with a view to the tighthead prop remaining fresh for the 2027 World Cup in Australia.

Wales launch their post-season programme with a non-cap international against the Barbarians at Twickenham on 27 June.

Tandy will then reduce his squad for Nations Championship matches against Fiji, Argentina and South Africa.

“Some players will finish next weekend and then some might not come into the squad until 27 June so there’s a lot of staggering, that’s the reason for the extended squad,” Tandy said.

“The priorities for us this summer are to keep growing the players, get them up to speed with the conditioning element and also skill development.”

Wales ended a three-year wait for a Six Nations win, and a 15-game losing streak in the championship, with a 31-17 defeat of Italy in Cardiff in their final game of this season’s tournament in March.

When The Tank will rumble again

The extent of the injury suffered by Junior Boks centre Ethan Adams in Gqeberha has become clearer following further medical assessment.

The powerful No 12 was stretchered off during South Africa’s 29-29 draw with New Zealand at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Saturday, raising immediate concerns about his availability for the Junior World Championship.

Initial fears have since eased, with an informed source telling Netwerk24 on Monday that Adams is expected to return within four to six weeks.

FOOTE: Junior Boks showed fight, resilience

While he will miss the Junior Boks’ warm-up series in Cape Town later this month, he remains in contention for the global showpiece in Georgia, which kicks off on 29 June.

South Africa will face Chile (21 May), Fiji (26 May) and Georgia (31 May) at City Park in Athlone as part of their preparations for the Junior World Championship.

Chelsea start contacting prospective head coaches

LONDON, England, May 11, 2026 – Chelsea have started to make contact with prospective managerial candidates as they move towards appointing the club’s next permanent head coach.

Andoni Iraola, Xabi Alonso and Marco Silva are among those already known to be on the list of names to replace Liam Rosenior, who was sacked last month, while it is understood Crystal Palace head coach Oliver Glasner also features in Chelsea‘s thoughts.

Former Flamengo head coach Filipe Luis and Como boss Cesc Fabregas, who both played for Chelsea, are understood to have admirers at Chelsea.

It is hoped that a new head coach will be appointed well before the start of pre-season training in early July.

Iraola, Alonso, Silva and Glasner are all out of work, or scheduled to be without a club, by the end of the season which means Chelsea will not be required to pay compensation.

Glasner is leaving Crystal Palace when his contract expires this summer and is understood to be open to staying in England.

Similarly, Iraola has confirmed he will depart Bournemouth at the end of the season.

The Spaniard is Crystal Palace‘s first-choice candidate to replace Glasner and the Eagles have already held extensive talks with Iraola.

However, Iraola is taking time to weigh up his future amid interest from Palace and Chelsea – while sources have also indicated the 43-year-old is open to going into next season without a club which would leave him available to take any mid-season vacancies.

Silva’s Fulham contract expires this summer but he has been offered a three-year deal by to stay.

The Portuguese is reported to have options abroad, while clubs in Saudi Arabia are also understood to be keen on Silva if he leaves Craven Cottage.
