Panthers Place Brazzell on IR, Sign Metayer

The Carolina Panthers have placed rookie wide receiver Chris Brazzell on injured reserve due to a knee injury and signed tight end Chamon Metayer to fill the roster spot.

Carolina Panthers rookie wide receiver Chris Brazzell will miss the 2026 season after being placed on injured reserve with a knee injury suffered during practice. The third-round pick from Tennessee underwent surgery to repair his lateral collateral ligament.

With an open roster spot, the Panthers signed tight end Chamon Metayer, who was originally signed by the Steelers as an undrafted rookie in April before being cut in June. Brazzell, a first-team All-SEC selection last year, will spend the year rehabbing to prepare for the 2027 season. rocore.sbs
