11-Year-Old Becomes Youngest Woman Chess Grandmaster

London schoolgirl Bodhana Sivanandan, 11, has made history by becoming the youngest person ever to hold the title of woman grandmaster at the Chess Olympiad in Uzbekistan.

Bodhana Sivanandan made chess history over the weekend when she became the youngest woman grandmaster at just 11 years old. To reach the board during the competition in Uzbekistan, the London schoolgirl used a car booster seat. Her father taught her to play chess when she was five, and just three years later she defeated a former British champion.

Despite her international chess success, Bodhana remains focused on her education. By Tuesday morning, she was back at her north London school for a design and technology lesson, balancing her chess achievements with the challenges of childhood and her first term at secondary school. solvita.blog
