The 2026 World Cup playoffs will finish this week, with Europe’s eight teams fighting for four spots and a Mexico‑hosted intercontinental tournament deciding the remaining two places.

Europe’s eight teams will compete for four World Cup spots in winner‑take‑all matches on Tuesday, with Bosnia‑Herzegovina vs. Italy, Sweden vs. Poland, Kosovo vs. Turkey and Czech Republic vs. Denmark. The victor of the Turkey‑Kosovo game will join Group D, already featuring the United States, Paraguay and Australia.

In Mexico, the intercontinental playoff will see Congo face Jamaica and Bolivia play Iraq in Guadalajara and Monterrey. The two winners will join the 48‑team roster, completing the tournament’s expanded lineup.
