Badosa earns Linz Open wild card after Charleston run

Paula Badosa earned a wild card into the Linz Open after reaching the round of 16 at the Charleston Open. The 27‑year‑old Spaniard hopes the Austrian event will help her climb back into the top 100.

Badosa, who dropped out of the top 100 at No. 102, made back‑to‑back wins over Kayla Day and Maria Sakkari before falling to Anna Kalinskaya in straight sets at the Charleston Open.

She has been granted a wild card into the inaugural WTA 250 Linz Open, which starts on April 6 in Austria. With only eight top‑40 players in the draw, Badosa sees the tournament as a chance to gain momentum and close the gap to the top 100.
