The Braves will start left-hander Ray Kerr in his first career postseason appearance as they face elimination against the Phillies in Game 3 of their Wild Card Series on Thursday night.

Kerr, 32, will serve as the opener with right-hander Grant Holmes expected to pitch in bulk relief. Kerr posted a 1.47 ERA in nine games with Atlanta since his recall on Aug. 16 after missing time due to Tommy John surgery.

For the Phillies, veteran right-hander Aaron Nola is expected to start, coming off a 4.67 ERA in the regular season. The Braves need to win to advance after the Phillies defeated them 4-3 in 10 innings on Wednesday. livefromquarantine.club
