British Engineer Found Dead During IPL 2026 in Mumbai

A 76-year-old British broadcast engineer working for the BCCI during IPL 2026 has died in Mumbai, police confirmed on Tuesday.

Jan William Langford was discovered unconscious in his hotel room on Monday and rushed to Bombay Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. The post-mortem examination did not reveal any suspicious signs, leading police to register a case of accidental death.

Langford's sudden passing casts a shadow over ongoing IPL operations in the city, specifically affecting Mumbai Indians' home matches scheduled at Wankhede Stadium.
