The Winnipeg-based rink improved to 5-2 with the win, tying Scotland's Ross Whyte for third place in the standings. Whyte kept pace with a 7-2 win over South Korea in the same session. Meanwhile, Sweden's Niklas Edin maintained his lead at 7-0, with Switzerland's Marco Hoesli second at 6-1. Dunstone, making his debut as Canada's skip at the worlds after winning this year's Montana's Brier, was scheduled to face Sweden in the day's final draw.
