Manolo Cadenas trains cancer survivor

Veteran handball coach Manolo Cadenas has begun training 16-year-old Manu from León, a cancer survivor who spent eight months hospitalized.

After Manu, a young handball player from León, spent eight months hospitalized with myeloid sarcoma in 2024, coach Manolo Cadenas approached the family and offered his help. "Leave him to me," the veteran technician told the boy's father. The 16-year-old, who had lost significant weight due to his illness, had previously been called up to the Castilla y León regional team.

Cadenas has now begun training the young player individually, helping him regain strength and continue his handball journey after battling a serious illness that kept him in isolation for approximately 200 days. xsportfeed.life
